Hey, I’m Athena Colón.
Pleasure to digitally meet you! I’m a proud second-generation Queer, Puerto Rican actress, teaching artist, and On-Camera coach. I’m a BRIO Award recipient from the Bronx Council on the Arts, and over the years I’ve had the honor of working on hit shows like New Amsterdam, BULL, Jessica Jones, Law & Order: SVU, and Martin Scorsese’s VINYL.
For more than 20 years, I’ve been helping actors and creatives find their voice, trust their instincts, and own their craft — whether it’s for the stage, screen, or upcoming project. I’ve worked with the incredible Heidi Marshall (former Telsey + Company casting director). I’ve been Heidi’s “trusted tag-team coach for many years.” I still coach at the Heidi Marshall Studio and serve as the Associate Director of Professional Development at DreamYard. My passion is continuing to pour into the next generation of storytellers.
Something you should know about me: I’m also a certified Reiki Level II practitioner and I’m currently getting my 200 Hour Certification for Yoga. I’ve woven energy work, breathwork, and grounding techniques into my coaching. Because On-Camera work isn’t just about technique — it’s about being fully present, connected, and honest in the moment.
Whether I’m on set, in a coaching session, or cheering on a creative’s big win, my mission is the same: to help you show up boldly, tell your story truthfully, and feel at home in your craft.
If you’re ready to step in front of the camera with confidence, clarity, and your whole self — I’ve got you.
My Approach
I’m your personal HYPE WOMAN! I bring feel-good energy, optimism, and a whole lot of fun to every session. It all starts with an idea — and your enthusiasm. Whether you need help prepping for an audition, collaborating on a role, or just getting more comfortable in front of the camera, I’ve got you.
We’ll dive into On-Camera acting techniques, professional self-tape skills, and character work that feels honest and grounded. I’m here to help you trust your instincts, make bold, specific choices, and finally feel at ease On-Camera.
Let’s level up your skills, have fun, and remind you why you love this work.
Dream it
Don’t stress about making the “right” choice — make the honest one. Sound like you. There are countless actors out there, but your truth, your perspective, and your story are what will set you apart. That’s what makes a performance unforgettable.
Build it
Be clear, confident, and no need to overthink every choice. The beauty of your artistry is that it will keep growing, and so will your process. Your job is to make the performance feel honest and right for this moment. Trust that the next chapter will meet you when it’s time — it always does.
